Sleigh Ride Dinners
Indulge in a fun filled evening with excellent food, superb service, and a sleigh ride in the midst of a mountain paradise destined for a magical place to relax and dine. Mountain Resorts offers sleigh ride dinners at the Elk River Guest Ranch, the Bar Lazy L Ranch, and the Saddleback Ranch. Elk River Guest RanchThe Elk River Guest Ranch offers a horse drawn sleigh ride through the surrounding wilderness to a cozy teepee for dinner. Dress warmly, ski clothes would be appropriate for the ski ride. Menu: NY strip steak, Salmon Filets, Herb Roasted Duck or Chicken. Dinners include fresh baked bread w/herb butter, garlic roasted potatoes, green beans, Caesar salad and sautéed mushrooms; followed by gourmet coffee & dessert. Full service cash bar is available, please do not bring alcohol. Location: The Elk River Guest Ranch is located 22 miles from Steamboat Springs in Clark, Colorado. From Steamboat, proceed west on HWY 40 toward Craig. Turn right (north) on Routt County Rd 129 and go approximately 18 miles. Turn right (east) on Routt County Rd 64 (Old Seed House Road). Drive for approximately 3 miles and you will see Elk River Guest Ranch on the left-hand side of the road Hours: Pick-up time for all dinner sleigh rides is between 4:15pm and 5:45pm. Guests must provide their own transportation for the private sleigh ride, which leaves a 5:00pm. Please call to reconfirm your reservation, pick-up location and menu choices with the Elk River Guest Ranch at least 48 hours in advance. Sleigh Ride Options: Teepee Dinner Ride - Tepees have a central warming fire surrounded by overstuffed couches and pillows. Lighting is a warm blend of candlelight and oil lamps. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres are served in the Elk River Guest Ranch Saloon followed by a sleigh ride to the tepee for dinner. After dinner, guests are treated to another sleigh ride back to the saloon for dessert & after dinner drinks

Bar Lazy L RanchHosted by Shane and Forest Yeager a 7th generation Steamboat family, The Bar Lazy L Ranch is a true Steamboat experience not to be missed. The evening begins with pick ups at The Gondola Transit Center, or the Mountain Resorts Lodge. It's a short twenty minute ride up the Elk River valley, where the horse drawn sleighs await. The sleigh ride trail follows the river through the lower pasture, drifts through the trees, and traverses back down the meadow to the loft of the Bar Lazy L ranch family heated barn loft. There, warm drinks, entertainment, and hospitality wait. Dinner is being prepared as you warm up, shake off the winter weather, browse the many western artifacts accumulated by their family over the years, and hear traditional western music performed by local artists. Dinner is served as the preparation completes. After dinner there is additional entertainment as you relax to let dinner settle. The after dinner entertainment concludes, as you bundle back up to take the sleighs back to the bus, and are returned to town. Reservations are required for all sleigh rides. Menu: Choice of Rib Eye Steak, Boneless Chicken Breast, and Seasoned Trout. Children’s menu selections are, Hot Dog, Chicken Nuggets. All meals are served with Baked Potato, Corn, Cowboy Beans, Warm dinner roll, and a delicious dessert. Beverages provided, Hot Chocolate, Hot Cider, Variety of Herbal Teas, Coffee, lemonade. Guests welcome to BYOB.

Saddleback RanchSaddleback Ranch is an 8,000 acre fourth generation family owned an operated working cattle ranch. Saddleback ranch is pleased to offer two Sleigh Ride options for you and your family. There is nothing quite as peaceful as taking a sleigh ride at night with the only sounds being the horses walking through the snow, the bells jingling on the harness and the distant howl of a coyote. Relax, cuddle up with a nice warm wool blanket (provided), and take a look at the stars and the moon's light making the snow glisten like diamonds. Dinner Sleigh Ride: It's a 40 minute ride to the Double Dollar Lodge, you will be greeted with a warm cup of hot chocolate or hot apple cider and the smell of delicious home-cooked meal During dessert, listen to some old-fashioned entertainment. After dessert, let us teach you how to calf rope. You're sure to have a great time! It's a very family friendly experience! Guests are required to call Saddleback Ranch at upon arrival in Steamboat to confirm Dinner Menu and pick-up location. Menu Your Choice of: New York Strip Steak, Marinated & Grilled Pork Tenderloin, Garlic Salmon or Teriyaki Chicken. Cowboy Baked Beans, Potatoes, Mixed Salad, Warm Homemade Bread. Dessert is Chef's choice (some examples being: brownies, chocolate cherry cake, peach crisp, strawberry-rhubarb dessert or bread pudding with a vanilla sauce. All are homemade and very tasty!) Hot chocolate, Hot Apple Cider, Cowboy Coffee, Lemonade and Water. A kids menu is available for children 5 & under with a choice of a hot dog or a hamburger. Beer and wine may be purchased by the bottle. Location: Saddleback Ranch provides front door transportation to and from the ranch in brand new luxury vans. Saddleback Ranch is located just outside of Milner, a 15 mile drive from Steamboat Springs. If you wish to drive to the ranch, take HWY 40 West out of Steamboat 10 miles. At mile marker 122 take a left onto county road 178, which will turn into County Road 179. Follow County road 179, 3miles across the rail road tracks, over the river and pass a housing development, the ranch is on the left side of the road. Hours: Pick-up time for the Dinner Sleigh Ride is 5:30PM and you will return to your condo at approximately 9:30PM.
